While I’m not a huge fan of “image” advertising online, I am a huge fan of personality or “identity” advertising.
The reason is that every brand, every product, every service has its own personality, whether you know it or not.
And a great way to take your internet marketing ads up a notch or two (in terms of response) is to pair your personality with your offerings.
Why does this work?
Due to the simple fact that if you can get the identity of your product – and not just your offer – into someone’s head when you try to sell to them, they will react differently to your offers than if you didn’t his offer go head.
Because when people are exposed to your personality, they will feel like they already know something about you. They will feel more comfortable with you and what you are selling. Even if they have never heard of you and even if they have never heard of your product.
And that familiarity directly increases the odds of them buying from you almost 100% of the time.
The reason for this is that people like people and places they know and are comfortable with. We don’t like to buy from complete strangers. We like to buy from people we already know and trust.
Many politicians have this in the back of their minds.
That’s why some politicians with little or no campaign money can soar to the top of the polls after appearing on television. Because people feel like they know him or her.
And it’s the same with your ads.
